A busy first full week.
6th Sep 2024
After a gentle introduction last week we went full on this week 😉
We made use of the good weather by telling each other our news outside, some of the children form a circle and are the "doughnut" the other children go inside and are the "sprinkles". They tell each other their news and then the sprinkles move to chat to another person.
First class made a start in their copies, learning to set out our work takes practice.
In maths junior infants had lots of practice sorting pom poms, cubes and camels! Senior infants were revising numbers that we did last school year and first class were making 10 and matching numerals to objects. We had lots of discussion and lots of playful learning.
We visited the school library to choose a book each.
In Gaeilge we were learning/revising body parts, we had good fun singing "ceann, gualainn, glúin is cos" - we got faster and faster!
Time to enjoy the sunny weather and gear up for next week when the juniors have their full day to look forward to!
