A busy week!

23rd Feb 2024
We had a busy week in the Junior Room. We were delighted to begin Gaelic training with Darragh. The future for Owenmore gaels looks good 👍
This week in aistear we were thinking about doctors. The infants all dressed up as doctors and nurses and performed miracles of healing on their patients- there were cries of "CPR" 😀. Thankfully all patients made rapid recoveries.
In art we practised weaving with wool making some God's Eyes. We were very pleased with the results.
In science we investigated bubbles 🫧- which soaps made the best bubbles and discussed reasons why this might be. Our predictions (ringed in the picture) were slightly different to our results.
In maths Senior infants were investigating weight. They used balance scales ⚖️ to balance a number of cubes with different objects - the children had to predict first which was very tricky for some objects!
Second class pupils were investigating measuring. They used fingertips to start with but soon realised that was not a great unit of measurement. Today they used metre sticks - if you stood still long enough you got measured!
