Action Day.

9th Mar 2023

Today was our school action day for Green Schools.  All the children dressed up in costumes representing "under the sea" there were so many amazing costumes and ideas! The children made creatures and plants that would be found under the sea.  The corridor was transformed! This was to make us think about all the life under the sea and the threats they face. At break the Green School committee sold loom bands and buns - this was to raise enough money to adopt a rescue seal. Huge thanks to the committee for their time, commitment and dedication- not to mention their baking! Thanks to everyones efforts we raised €162 which we will be forwarding on to Seal Rescue Ireland. Our adopted seal's details will be posted here once it has been sorted out. Due to the snowy weather it was too cold to do a parade of the super costumes so the committee went around to each class and judged the different outfits. They took their time and deliberated carefully- it was a very tough decision but they managed to pick a winner from each class and an overall winner who received a reusable drinks bottle.  If we all reduce our use of single use plastic the environment ,our home, benefits. Here are some pictures of the day and thanks to all once again!
