Happy New Year to you all, it was great to see everyone today after the break! The children had a great afternoon experimenting with static electricity. We used balloons and rubbed them on our wool jumpers to build up static electricity and then tried to get our hair to stand on end. This was great fun! We also used plastic combs and rubbed them against our jumpers to create the static and then picked up pieces of paper. The most amazing of all was rubbing the balloons on our hair and getting them to stick against a wall or even better, our heads! The children in 1st and 2nd class then wrote a report of the experiment.
