April Action in Infants.

21st Apr 2021

April saw us take advantage of some lovely weather- and it fitted in with our learning too! We have been taking care of our environment so we were weeding our flower beds. We were also planting seeds – each table has planted different seeds and we have each planted some spinach too. Most seeds have already started to sprout and Lilly was our star grower of week 1. Shay is our star grower of week 2 as his pea plant is starting to reach high! We also celebrated Earth Day by listening to a story about recycling and what small actions we can do to help the earth. We also saw how to make “earth day pizzas” so some of us had a go at those during our break time – we didn’t eat them though!

We also made use of the good weather to tell our news outside – we call this doughnut news….it’s complicated! During active schools week we have walked 1km every day, we have made use of our playground markings, played rounders and danced! We particularly enjoy dancing to DJ Raphi YMCA  and DJ Raphi The Macarena -we know all the moves now and look very cool dudes performing it.

In art we were looking at skyscrapers and construction and then we had a go at building our own – it was trickier than we thought it would be!!! But still fun! In maths we have been doing plenty of addition and other topics but we all got together to do some data – here is a graph of some of our favourite things to eat – picturegraphs make it really easy to read information.

We look forward to a new month – and watching our vegetables grow!
