Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everybody!
The week started back with lots of discussion about who got what from Santa 🎅, luckily he had visited every house and there was no lumps of coal so that was good news.
We began a new history project looking at how school was long ago. We looked at pictures of our school which was built in 1951 and we could see the difference between then and now. The main building was smaller and had chimneys.
We did 3 different science/technology/engineering projects. We had to 1) make a rocket which would travel along the string using a balloon. We enjoyed this and well done to Adam who's rocket travelled the furthest. 2) design and make a spinner. Some children put numbers on to make it useful for a board game and some made it into a fortune teller by writing yes/no on it. Apparently teacher is not going to win the lotto 😕 3) design and make a fort that would provide shelter from the sun (even though there was hailstone outside...) and fit at least 2 people in it. The children worked well together in small groups, listening to each others ideas and coming up with solutions when things went a bit wrong.
