History, Jogging and Data!

26th Sep 2024

The children in 2nd/3rd/4th had an interesting few days looking at some historical documents that we have in our school library. They looked at old Rolla Books and couldn’t believe how big they were! Lots of information too and we found out that a pupil once got in some serious trouble for throwing gooseberries! It’s great to have a chance to investigate history in such a hands on way using these great resources. Thank you for filling in the school interviews too. The children enjoyed sharing what they found about schools in the past- lots of similarities which was surprising.

We’ve been practicing jogging and starting positions during P. E. We were flying like superman and even trying a backward start position. It’s great to see the children enjoying keeping fit especially while the weather has been on our side.

We started learning all about Data and collected information from our classmates - we found out that dogs are the most popular pet and also Michael D Higgins is just as popular as Donald Trump, and safe to say that supermacs is top of the list for fast food restaurants. Clearly football is the most popular yard game too.

Autumn is in the air too as we started to collect leaves and use them to draw, sketch and print. 🍁🍂 send in any nature items to add to our nature table.
