In the Junior Room.
7th Feb 2025
This week in maths the junior and senior infants have been working on fractions. Their fraction action included making playdough pizzas and cutting them in half. They also made playdough cakes and cut them in half.
First class were working on measuring looking at length. We started off looking at non standard measurements using cubes and sticks before using the metre stick.
In Science we are looking at the effects of heat on materials to see what changes occur. We made jelly to observe it melting with the heat. The next day it had set with the cold and so we had to eat it 😋
In pe we began athletics and practiced hurdles using markers to jump over - it may take a while before we are Olympic standard but we are pretty good 👍.
In art we began making something special for Valentines day so there are no photos as it's a surprise!
In geography we looked at puddles and drew around them with chalk - however there were no puddles due to the cold and sunny weather so teacher had to make some with a bottle of water. The next day the water had disappeared.....we discussed where it had gone.
