The Green schools committee were invited to speak today at the joint policing committee meeting in Sligo County Council. The children who were available to attend spoke very well and were supported in their points by the local councillors Dara Mulvey, Gerard Mullaney, Martin Connolly and Thomas Healy. We were delighted to hear from the Gardaí that submissions have been made to have the speed van return and also the possibility of a fixed, permanent speed camera. We should know very soon the results of these submissions. A huge thank you to the councillors for their ongoing support and to Cllr Thomas Healy for getting us on Ocean FM and the invitation today. Thank you to the children for giving up their last morning of the Easter break to attend the meeting.
