The children have been very busy since March here in school. Back in March they had great fun with their egg experiments. They had to design and make containers that would protect their eggs from breaking when dropped from a height.

They made beautiful Mother’s Day cards.

We have begun work on our school garden again. We love planting flowers and vegetables and having the chance to watch them grow. Shane very kindly brought in rose clippings for us to plant and Jack donated a tomato plant too! We planted spring onions, lettuce and a mixture of wild flowers.

We learned how to play rounders back in April! It was so much hitting a home run :)

Our PE fun continued with Active Schools week. This week is always fun and even the wet weather couldn’t dampen our spirits! Well done to the children who won the skipping challenge! We try to include skipping now as part of our weekly lessons, its a great warm up.

In our Art lessons we recently learned about the life and work of Picasso and Matisse. Not long after this it was time for Creative School’s week. The class created papier mache masks inspired by the music of The Carnival of Animals. This work took us a week to complete which was very enjoyable. Its definitely one to try out again at home. Once the masks were completed we had our own Carnival of Animals outside with some music and games!

Our most recent Science work was based on forces. The children investigated which piece of playdough would stop first when pushed. We enjoyed making our predictions and then testing this out.

Keep up the great work boys and girls! Lots of nice activities lay ahead for our last 6 weeks of school this year :D
