Some of this week's activities included painting our clay St Brigid's crosses. We were really pleased with how they turned out. In maths the juniors were working with number 4, the seniors were working with number 9. The senior infants were challenged to fit 9 people in 2 hula hoops - they had fun with this but couldn't fit more than 5 in a hoop so it was 5+4=9. First class children were looking at tens and units. They had a challenge to build a tin foil boat and see how many blocks of 10 they could fit before it sank - it took 150 units - 15 blocks. We were thinking about our friends and made posters to say what positive qualities our friends have to make them special. The children are still enjoying the new plus plus and continue to create some amazing structures which of course need to be photographed! Well done children and enjoy the bank holiday!
