This week we celebrated Earth Day. We discussed all the ways we help the Earth and what we could maybe try a little harder with. The infants made some little booklets of all the things they do.
The children in 1st and 2nd class have been taking part in a darts tournament in class and the final was played between Oran and Bláithín. Oran won overall by just a few points, they were delighted with their prizes. Well done to all the participants!
We have continued with our Gaelic training with Darragh and the children enjoy all the different activities.
Serena Molloy, the author, came to visit us again this week and helped us understand the process she uses for writing poetry. We really enjoyed the session.
We have started thinking about heat and sources of heat this week. We decided which heat sources belonged in which categories.
The children in 1st and 2nd class received their letters from their penpals this week and enjoyed reading all their news.
We all had fun playing maths games this week - it's easy to learn when it's fun!
On Thursday we had a zoom meeting with pickerpals. We learned a little bit about sustainable development goals and then took part in a kahoot quiz on it. Then we drew one of the characters from pickerpals.
Finally 2nd class pupils have been busy preparing for their first Holy Communion. We wish them all a lovely, special day tomorrow.
