The school tour is back!

15th Jun 2023

After a break due to covid the school tour ritual is back this year! The infants and 1st and 2nd class children loaded onto a bus this morning and made the journey to County Mayo. We'd only got to Tubbercurry when a little voice asked if we were there yet? 😂 We continued on anyway and on our arrival we had a snack and drink after the journey.  Then it was outside to play. We had great fun digging in the sand, driving go-karts, tree swings and zip lines. After a little while we got together again and all got a small bag of seed to feed the animals.  There were a few shrieks as the alpacas and llamas ate the food from our hands! The goats were tickly too! We all had a turn holding the baby rabbits, they were declared to be the cutest things ever. Everyone enjoyed stroking the puppies too. Then we found another playground, which we had to try out. After that it was time to wash our hands and sit down to a feast of nuggets, sausages and chips washed down with juice. We were certainly ready for our lunch! Then it was time for the indoor playground- the children all ran around, climbed up, climbed down, twizzled around and slid down. It was fantastic fun but they all got very hot so we enjoyed cooling down outside with a cup of juice. There was just time for another quick play outside before it was time to get the bus home again. Everyone was tired on the way back and 1 or 2 children may even have had a little snooze.....

A great day was had and all the children were very well behaved! 😊
