This week in the Junior Room.
10th May 2024
We have been busy again! We were delighted to welcome Serena Molloy back to our room and this time we composed our own poems, the Infants made some wonderful poems about butterflies 🦋 and displayed them on a butterfly shape. The children in 1st and 2nd class chose to write about bears 🐻 and dolphins 🐬. They chose some very descriptive language to describe the appearance and movement of their chosen animals.
In art we continued with observational drawing- this is a tricky skill as we usually draw from our imagination. The children looked at wild flowers very carefully and drew what they saw. There were some brilliant pieces produced!
Senior infants have been working on capacity in maths and had fun measuring the capacity of different containers.
At the end of every maths lesson we finish with some maths games to hone our skills. This is always fun but can get very serious as 2nd class competed in Uno.
