This week with 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
23rd Jan 2025
Another busy week of activities.
On Tuesday, 4th class participated in an Anti-Racism workshop with members of Sligo Rovers.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and had lots of fun too. π
In Maths this week, second class have been working hard on subtraction using renaming.
We spent lots of time on Monday using our concrete materials to help us understand the concept. 3rd and 4th meanwhile were concentrating on decimals and everyone enjoyed some time on the iPads to practise our tables and accuracy.
In Geography, the children have been learning the towns of Ireland and used the atlases to familiarise further their different locations. π
We also enjoyed some Free Writing time this week. The title of our writing was "If we could help change 3 things in the world..." The children wrote some very interesting texts and everyone had an opportunity to present to the class. Well done π
In Art, we finished our seasonal snowmen for display. We planted in Science and linked this activity with our procedural writing in English.
We also enjoyed some lovely calm reading time in the library. π
Well done children, another bumper week of activities. πππ
Be proud of yourselves.
