Happy New Year everyone and best wishes for a great 2025 😊🎊
It was a cold and frosty start to our new term. ❄️ After lots of fantastic stories about Christmas, the children settled and completed super classwork this week.
In Maths, we were covering number patterns while second class worked well on their rounding and estimating skills using addition and subtraction.
In English, we continued with our genre writing. This month, we will be focusing on procedural writing. On Wednesday, the children wrote out the procedure for buying train tickets. We got our inspiration from our story about trains. Well done children, great work 👏
In Geography, we became familiar with the various locations of the towns and villages in Co. Sligo. The children completed some excellent map work during the lesson.🌏
In Science, we were learning about plant life and the different parts of a plant and their various functions. We enjoyed an experiment to see how plants absorb water and nutrients. Thank you to Mark and Shay for their assistance with this experiment. We also spent time playing our tin whistles 🎶 and deciding on our plans and hopes for 2025.
