World Book Day in 1st and 2nd class.
We celebrated World Book Day today in a few different fun ways. We all dressed up as book characters and looked fantastic- well done to all the children (and helpers at home). We had a whole school parade in the yard so we could all enjoy each others costumes. We also enjoyed a zoom call with a children's book shop in Bray. They had arranged for 2 children's authors - Paddy Donnelly and Ashwin Chacko- to read their books to us. The stories were both super - we particularly enjoyed the story by Paddy Donnelly "Fox & Son Tailers ". The authors talked to us about how they got ideas and then both talked us through a guided drawing so we could produce 2 of their characters. Later on we went on a "Where's Wally?" hunt - there were 11 hidden around the school and a letter on the back of each one. From collecting all the letters we had to rearrange them to make the title of a book. We all got book tokens to get ourselves a new book to read. We had a great day!
